The Southern Center for International Studies (SCIS), founded in 1962, is a non-profit educational institution based in Atlanta, Georgia. The primary mission of SCIS is to internationalize the thinking of the American public. In accomplishing this mission, SCIS seeks to inform. It does not take political positions or attempt to influence policy.
To achieve its mission, SCIS:
* conducts conferences, briefings, and seminars with international experts and world leaders.
* provides information packages on countries, regions of the world and current political and economic international issues.
* conducts corporate training on specific regions of the world from economic, political, environmental, and cross-cultural perspectives.
* provides a timeline of current international events and reputable links to other web sites for current international information.

Qualifications:
An interest in and knowledge of international affairs; previous academic performance (GPA of 3.0 or above); writing and computer skills; and ability to perform detail-oriented work.
Responsibilities:
* Read, select, prepare, and file relevant articles from the Center's subscriptions and the Internet.
* Prepare and update information packages on specific countries, as well as international issues and organizations.
* Conduct background research and prepare background briefs for upcoming programs.
* Attend and participate in the Center's local programming; on occasion assisting in the production of these programs.
* Attend and participate in the Center's regular courses.
